Marjie Shrimpton is a Legal Assistant and the Firm’s Communications Coordinator. As Legal Assistant, she primarily supports the Firm’s entertainment and employment practices. She previously worked as an Assistant for the International Human Rights Funders Group, a philanthropy network for grantmaking organizations that fund human rights and social justice initiatives. Ms. Shrimpton graduated with a B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University with a double major in dance and human rights (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, 2014). While in school, she spent time abroad studying performing arts and culture, international politics and human rights in Senegal, New Zealand and Paris. In 2013, she was awarded a Tow Fellowship to complete research in New Zealand for her senior thesis. Outside of the Firm, Ms. Shrimpton is an actor-dancer-singer. She has been a Featured Dancer in several stage and video productions, including a show in the 2016 Busch Gardens Williamsburg core season. She frequently collaborates with ASTIR and The BringAbout, under the creative direction of Jennifer Jancuska, to develop movement for new theatre, and is currently creating a short film series about the various forms of aggression against women.
